Home of my aspirations!

Finally got home of my aspirations. It was too difficult journey for us to had interior of our house as we wanted. We met lot of designer and architec to made our house beautiful. Sometimes, it was too costly and sometimes we didn't like the idea of designer. Too difficult. I am an artist by profession and by nature also. I wanted my house to be different from any other house. Very artistic and close to the nature.
So , I decided to do interior of my house by my own. Then journey started six months ago. I kept researching on Internet. Watching interior design shows on television. And then finally got the idea to make my house beautifully design to live and feel fresh everyday. It was not too easy as I was writing it very easily. Going to share exciting story on Home of my aspirations. Have patients be with me. Sharing some pictures.

Honesty

In childhood, we all learnt “Honesty is the best policy”. Honesty inspires us to become a good and loyal person. Honestly, we like honest people around us. It is not easy to find this characteristic in everybody. Being genuine and honest to make their own self strong and stand alone. Honest person can win your trust easily. That shows the good and strong character of a person. Today, my story is based on this subject.

Puja was working since long in Shweta's house. It was almost 5 years of helping her in house chores. Shweta was in a hurry, she left for office. It was not her first time she left puja all alone at home for completing house chores.

That day Shweta came early in the evening because she forgot to collect that money at home which she had to pay to the carpenter. She was looking out for money which she has left on the T.V stand purposely to find it sure enough when she gets ready today morning to leave for office.
However, she couldn't see anything there. It was quite easy for her to doubt puja because she was all alone at home. Shweta was searching furiously. But she didn’t find it.
Amay reached from office and found Shweta worried.
“Hey, what happened? Anything serious.” Amay asked.

“Yes, I kept the money here,”
Shweta pointed towards the T.V stand,
“But now I am unable to find it.” She told him.
“I think you forgot, try to remember where you could have kept it” he suggested.
“No, I am sure I came from office kept money here. So, it would be easy for me to remember to give it to the carpenter but I forgot to pick it up in the morning because I was in hurry to get to office.” She said.
“Do you think puja can steal it?” She asked.
How would I know? But she has been working for 5 years. I don’t think so, she can steal it” he said.
“Please stop taking her side, you don’t know, how clever they are? They can do anything for money. They always need money. I don’t think she will come tomorrow. She took the money.” She said.
“You are getting too hypothetical,” he said.
“Everyone is not same. We will ask her tomorrow but then you try to remember where you  can keep it.” He insisted on her.
He went to get fresh.
But Shweta is too sure and keep damning puja. She sat on the couch, kept her face down in worry. And kept talking. “50 thousand is a big amount, how she can do this to me. I always help her during her necessity.”
“5 years of trust she has broken it, I think she needs money terribly that’s why she did this” she was babbling.
“Relax now will ask her tomorrow,” Amay said.
“How could I relax,” she said.
“Shweta come here,” he said.
“What happened?” she said.
“Please come” he insisted.
“What?” I said
“See here you keep the money in the drawer and forgot,” he said.
She was happy and quite embarrassing for her thought. She had a mixed feeling.
She took money to keep in self. Again babbling “I didn’t keep money here, I am sure about it.”
“I thought that it would be easy for me to look out for money when i would about to leave for office. That was the reason I kept it on T.V stand.” She said.
“You kept 50 thousand here because you wanted to remember easily. Are you kidding? He took a deep breath. Okay, I am going to have dinner. Do you want to come?” He asked.
“Yes”,  she said.
Next morning puja had come for house chores.
“Puja you came late again I have to leave for the office now,” i said.
“You go I will take care of everything.”Puja said.
“Didi, do you find money I kept it in dressing drawer.” She said.
“Oh, you kept it there.”  Shweta asked.
“Yes,” puja said.
“Money was here on tea table I thought you forgot to keep it. It was easily visible. So, I thought I should keep it in the drawer.” She said.
“Didi, take care from now onwards, keep money inside always. This is not good habit.” puja kept chattering.
Shweta smiled at her and left out for office.

14 Feb!

Happy Valentine's Day !

I was reading the newspaper one morning. I came across a column of various offers and checked the date of the newspaper. It was 14 Feb, Valentine's day. After marriage, this seems like a normal day most of the time. I ran towards Sheetal’s apartment and rang the bell. Sheetal opened the door.
"Hey, Happy Valentine's day," I said. I saw her face and asked her, "Why do you look so sad? Where is Shekhar?"
Sheetal replied, "He had to join the duty. He went in the night."
"Alright", I said, "let's go shopping."
Sheetal said "No, I am expecting Shekhar's call in the evening. I should be at home."
"You can receive your call anywhere." I replied. "Anyway, he will call you in the evening. See my husband is on tour and Shekhar also left to join his duty. So let's celebrate Valentine 's Day together. You will feel good."
"Alright, but not now. Let's go in the evening," Sheetal suggested.
I agreed and went back home to finish my housework. Then I got ready to go but it was 4:30 pm. I switched on the TV and tried to pass my time till 5 pm. While changing the channels, I came across the news channel which broadcasted the news of the terror attack on an army bus.
I thought about Shekhar. I ran towards Sheetal's apartment. Memories of Sheetal and Shekhar flooded my mind and made me emotional. They got married six months ago and she stayed here with her in-laws. "She is young. Oh, how would Shekhar's parents react?" I asked myself.
When I reached Sheetal's apartment, she came out and said, "I knew that you will come on time. Wait, let me get my purse."
"Wait," I said. "Where is uncle and aunty?"
"They went for a walk," she replied.
I asked her to switch on the television but she said, "No, we don't have time. Let's go."
When I insisted, she switched on the TV and I made her watch the terror attack news. Her face went pale and she sat down in melancholy.
I held her tightly in my arms and tried to console her. After 15 minutes, the phone rang. Since Sheetal's wasn't in the condition to attend the call, I picked up the phone instead.

"Hello, where is sheetal?" Shekhar asked from the other end.
"Shekhar! But the news?" I asked.
"Yes I know. I am about to reach my destination. Tell Sheetal to talk now because I don't know when I can get time to talk next." Shekhar said.
Just then Shekhar's parents arrived from their walk and said, "You both are still here. Didn't go out yet?"

I just walked out without uttering a word and came back to my apartment.
Switching on the TV, I sat on the couch watching the protest on social media. We, the people, can bewail on martyrs death.
What makes them so strong? Always ready to serve their country without the apprehension of death. They give us a safe and secure life to celebrate our special day with our loved ones!

I am thankful to those who are fighting to protect us and continuously serve our country.
Salute to their families!

Getting Older!

The topic seems quite interesting to me because I am surrounded by those who are getting old. I feel old some time while dealing with younger generations. This stage is very difficult for people to accept they are getting old, their thought is old and not accepted by young people or I can say millennials. The difference of thinking is that, older people forget once they were also young and they used to think the same way when they were in the same stage, Most of the time they behave mawkishly. There is a huge discrepancy between both generations. Lack of acceptance of thought which we called the generation gap.
An incident related to this I am going to share with you. While I was at the bus stop I saw an elderly man and there were a  group of youngsters, all waiting for the buses to arrive.  The Youngsters were smoking in their group. The man in his heavy voice asked the boys not to smoke in public place.
At first, they ignored him and continued smoking without a bother.  Again the elderly man asked them not to smoke, now with irritation.
The elderly man was correct because there were many people waiting for the bus prone to passive smoking. They were getting irritated with smoking but no one wanted to say anything. Because everyone was in there own thoughts. Some of them covered their face but no one wanted to mess with them. This time the boy replied, "what is your problem?" Very rudely.
But then my bus arrived. I boarded the bus and looked back at the man.
The man was standing there shocked by the boy’s rude reply. Quite embarrassed. He would not have expected that, I don't think he insisted further.
But left lots of questions in my mind. And this story to tell.

Freedom at a Cost!

“We, the People, recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights; that our destinies are bound together; that a freedom which only asks what's in it for me, a freedom without a commitment to others, a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism, is unworthy of our founding ideals, and those who died in their defense. Barack Obama”

We all are aware about the sacrifices people from all sects had made to achieve independence. It was hard earned and was attained at a huge cost. Different people followed different philosophies and approach to serve the motherland and there was only one thing to go after. Indepedence from foreign rule. There was no ambiguity in the objective. People were allowed to follow the path they had convictions on. But as was apparent, they had major differences of Openion on the best way to pursue the ultimate objective.
It seems quite similar to the analogy about religion where people practice different faiths but the ultimate goal is quite similar.
Today the task is to maintain this Independence and understand the idea of Freedom in its true sense. And the challenges are quite similar to the ones that we faced over 70 to 100 years ago. The fight is to become representatives of the majority thought and take it to the logical conclusion. And this fight is not just for the Political class to participate in but for all those who want this country to be united and want it to progress proudly into the future.
That brings me to the Idea of Indian-ness. When India agrees on a thought, what does it actually mean. When we pass any law in the Indian parliament, what does it actually mean. My thought alone is not representative of what India thinks, but it may just be a small proportion of the final view that is adopted as a law or rule to follow in India. This is where leaders, may be majorly political but all others as well who excel in their chosen fields and command some following need to play their parts.
'Cost' I mention in the subject is the personal openions that are so true and obvious to me as an individual. This may be non-negotiable for my personal space and this may mean the Freedom to practice my culture and religion and other similar things i deem essential for my independence.
'Price' is the open mindedness and the Indian-ness for the larger good of our Society. If we have no tolerance for an alternate thought to our own or our own smaller religious or other like minded groups, then we are not prepared to pay the price for the Freedom that our ancestors fought for and then this is not the same 'Idea of India'.
I think its a great time now to understand the Idea of India. India, that is a set of multiple Individuals who differ in education, occupation, habits, likes, dislikes, beliefs and almost everything that can be different. It's a challenge very few would be able to take up in its true spirit and this is the ultimate price we need to pay to maintain our Independence going forward.
May the true leaders stand up and take charge.

Meditation For Us!

"Meditation means the mind is turned back upon itself. The mind stops all the thought-waves and the world stops. Your consciousness expands. Every time you meditate you will keep your growth."   Swami Vivekanand!

Whenever I think about Meditation it reminds me of my school days. When I learned this from my yoga teacher. Very curious I was when they were telling us about the benefits of yoga. When we were kids everything excited us. ”Meditation” The word just struck my mind. That day I thought I was going to learn something miraculous, the teacher was telling us about meditation I wanted to absorb every bit of knowledge about meditation. The time had come when our meditation teacher gave us the secret mantra to chant during meditation. One by one we were going from our group. In all this excitement and waiting for my chance. I looked around it was a big hall. We called it Meditation room. There were spiritual paintings hanging on the wall but the painting attracted me a lot was Swami Vivekananand. It had been said that Swami Vivekanand was born Dhayan Siddha i.e perfect in meditation by birth. I was observing painting carefully with full of thoughts.

I heard Chetna your turn, the time had come when I was going to get life secret. Finally, the wait was over. Further moving ahead towards the dark room I could see the illustration of the yoga teacher. She called me, come chetna. yes, ma’am, I said to her, She hold my shoulder with her hand. Whispered the secret mantra and said "don't tell anyone". I came out felt like "I carry the day".
That was the day when i came close to Meditation. It makes me emotionally calm. Mentally clear my thoughts, focusing on my work and control my thoughts. Provides me a full of energy day, including good health and always a fresh mind.
Meditation control our senses. Gives us a perfect sense of better Life. The practice of Meditation leads us towards a healthy life.
Everyone comes across a few moments in their life which change their views forever.
However, the mantra is still a secret for everyone.😉
Actually, Meditation itself a secret of flourishing and blissful life.

New Beginning

New Beginning, New birth

Six months ago I delivered a beautiful baby girl.

It’s a new chapter of my life as a mother. And I find myself happy and joyful all the time now. I was not like this earlier. I was a very cranky person and got irritated easily. I hated talking to anyone in the morning, and wanted to be by myself all the time.

After delivering the baby, I noticed that she woke up at odd hours in the night. It was difficult for me to handle her tantrums. I used to be so irritated by this. Sometimes I used to yank her and scream with frustration. But she cried more to irritate me further.

Every morning I drowned myself in self pity until one day I decided to try something new. I waited for her to wake up in the night. And like always, she woke up at 2:00 am. Instead of being irritated, I smiled at her. I was happy to see that she tried to respond back in the same way.

It then became my daily routine. No matter what time she woke up, I used to be joyful in fornt of her and make her smile. I kept doing this and soon realised that babies are a reflection of our character. They reflect back how we behave with them. Now people ask me why my baby is so calm and doesn’t get agitated.

She is only six months old but is quite sober minded. She catches up things quickly because I used to talk her. She loves music and I like to recite mantras to her. Whenever I am busy with work, I engage her with me. She observes things and tries to revert back with her expressions and keeps on smiling. I want her to observe things, so that she feels more comfortable with me and does not get agitated.

When I was pregnant someone told me babies are like soft clay. You can give them any shape. It is upon us how much effort we will put on our kid to make them better person in life.

Because babies are not growing with us, we are growing older with them!

Hare Krishna!

KRISHNA is The Idea that has taken over the World!

The Concept is quite an ultimate in terms of the need it serves. It gives you hope, it enables you to fight it out. It teaches you to live in the present. And most importantly, It allows you to love without judgement. It urges one to take control of his own destiny and become the 'Arjun' who can see clearly even in times of grave difficulty and come out a Winner.

Shree Krishna played numerous characters and all to perfection-  the Son, the Friend, the Lover and then finally the guide who unlocks the secrets to wisdoms of life. These numerous relations makes it easy for people to relate with the God and come closer to him. He is the companion who loves his disciples and guides them in all stages and situations of life. He is the God who is fun loving and does not endorse the strict virtuous being devoid of the pleasures of life.

Krishna preaches to play the game and accept the challenges of life head on. He talks about the decision making process in various situations of life. And he talks about the NO regret model of life. 'Karm' is the Objective and the prime focus in life and taking the side of 'Dharm' will make you victorious. And You don't need to fear anything as you are the Soul, the transient, the energy and not the body, the physical. The Notion that you cannot in reality possess anything worldly but only use them, even your own body as a mere instrument or tool to carry out your 'dharm', is a powerful and enabling Idea.

Jai Shree Krishna.

Yoga

I thought I should write about Yoga. How Yoga is important in our life. What inherent ability yoga has which can change one's life. I am not convincing you about yoga after all it's your life. But sharing my positive experience. How yoga changed my life. Here I am writing about yoga. When I started yoga that time I was suffering from deficiencies and ignored so many things about my health when I was working. In results of that I invited deficiencies in my body. The thing is, remedies are easily available but ignoring health issue is alarming.
I developed Spondylitis which is one of the common problem in this technological era. I was unable to walk, unable to bend my body and I slept in any position my body got stuck up in! I was too afraid to sleep! That was the time when I thought that's it. My life is over now. Nothing is left in my life.
Then I decided to go deeply into sprituality. I started waking up early in the morning, which I still do. I started doing yoga in the morning. Everyday with all the positivity, happiness and energy I started my day early in the morning. Within a week I felt some differences in my body. I was feeling more energetic then before!
That day I came to know that yoga has that innate ability to spread positivity in one's life.
I am thankful to the divine god to keep faith on me and show me a grate and fruitful way to improve my morbid body.
It has been a very positive journey yet from starting yoga to getting used to  doing yoga.

And believe me,  the journey has truly been worth the while!

“Motherhood”

Such a beautiful word - “Mother”.

When I was a kid I didn’t know the importance of the mother. I knew that mother was for serving food, filling my empty stomach, washing clothes and taking care of the whole family. It is simple for me to describe my Mom as a full-time worker with no salary. What an irony, a mother who is the pillar of the family, who works so hard on holidays also, sometimes everybody takes her for granted. I am one of those who unable to understand my mother’s sacrifice for me. I saw my mother who fed the whole family in the house, yet ate stale roti because she felt lazy to make roti for herself. But she was the only one who wanted everyone to eat fresh food. Why? I couldn’t ever understand. I never said to my mother to give me half of the stale roti.
Now that I have myself become a mother,  I can understand what deep love she has for all of us children.

Mother is a stepping stone in everyone’s life, we learn life skills from her. Our first guru is our mother. She gives us life. She gives us purpose to live and teaches us about life’s ups and downs. She always wants us to be more successful in life and feels happy even in our small achievements and encourages us to touch the sky!   Isn’t it that mother is the most important influence of on kids.

I truly understood the meaning of this beautiful word mother, when I became a mother of such a beautiful daughter.

I feel the same things as a mother, ones my mother felt for me. I owe my mother this life.

“There is a mother in everyone’s life because God cannot be everywhere!”.
